REASI, Aug 9: District Reasi Weightlifting Association under the close cooperation of J&K Weightlifting Association organized one-day District Reasi Championship today at Indoor Complex of Reasi Stadium.
More than 45 athletes in both the gender take part in the one-day event which was graced by Harbhajan Singh (president, J&K Weightlifting Association) as chief guest. General secretary of the Association Yudhvir Singh, district president Gurmaz Singh and organizer Koushal Thakur were also present.
Other members including Natasha Sharma, Dileep Singh, Manish Charak, Azad Ahmed Mir, Vikas Sharma, Manish Thakur, Amandeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Singh, Akash Virdhi, Himanshu Sharma, Parveen Kumar, Manjeet Singh and technical officials were also attended the event.
In Women category (40 kg), Nisha Devi, Manvi Devi and Urmila Devi clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively while Akshra Devi, Anuradha and Ananya Bali stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in 45 kg category. Saifa Shaheen got first prize and Akriti Bali 2nd in 55 kg category while Hassiba and Lakshmi clinched 1st prizes in 59 kg event in Youth and Senior categories, respectively.
In Men’s category, Shivam, Rajveer and Akshay secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in 49 kg category (Youth). Sidharth won first prize in 55 kg (Youth) category while Piyush clinched 1st prize in 61 kg (Youth) category. Nitin Rajput, Azmad Ali and Yasir clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in 67 kg (Youth) category, Junior stood first in 67 kg (Junior) category whereas Rajeev Ali and Azad Ali got 1st and 2nd prizes in 67 kg (Senior) category.
Uttkarsh stood first in 73 kg (Youth) category and Abhishek won 1st prize in 73 kg (Senior) category while Tofeeq won first position in 89 kg (Senior) category.
