SRINAGAR, July 21: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of the Red Cross Committee, J&K State Branch to discuss and approve the building plans, designs and initiation work of Red Cross House at Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Engineer, R&B Kashmir Division, Secretary Regional Red Cross Committee, Kashmir, Chief Architect, Architect Association J&K, besides other concerned officers.
The meeting was informed that 8.11 kanals of land was transferred to Indian Red Cross Society, J&K State Branch by the competent authority. It was also told that Chief Engineer R&B has prepared revised designs and estimates to the tune of Rs. 5.54 crore.
The Divisional Commissioner was informed that seed money of Rs one crore for construction of Red Cross Complex at Exchange Road, Srinagar was sanctioned and released by Planning Department through Government Medical College, Srinagar during the year 2012-13 in favour of J&K State Branch of IRCS.
The meeting was informed that the building will accommodate a dispensary, one waiting room, blood bank, pathological laboratory, diagnostic centre, physiotherapy centre, jan aushadi drug store, pantry besides washrooms.
