JAMMU, Oct 16: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu, who is also Chairman of the newly constituted Board for historic Shrines, Shri Mata Sukrala Devi Ji and Shri Mata Bala Sundari Devi in Billawar area of Kathua district, today discussed issues related to management and development of these religious places here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Board G Parsana Ramswami (ADC Kathua) besides members and other concerned officers.
Besides reviewing the facilities available for the devotees at the twin shrine, issues related to engagement of permanent staff for the Shrine Board, provision for power and water supply, transfer of Tourism Sarai to the Shrine Board, besides initiatives required to be taken for the development of the shrines by the board were deliberated at length.
Divisional Commissioner underlined the need for establishing a well-organized administrative setup for running vital affairs of the board efficiently besides proper management of these places of pilgrimages.
The Board members raised issues regarding future planning for development of shrines and facilities to the pilgrims.
The Divisional Commissioner assured that strenuous efforts would be made to create better facilities to project these shrines as major pilgrimages. He said that the Board would make every effort to attract maximum yatries to Mata Sukrala and Mata Sundari in the coming time.
The Divisional Commissioner assigned different responsibilities to the Board members and the officers concerned for well planned development of the two shrines.
