JAMMU, Aug 28: 6th J&K State Shooting Championship was inaugurated by Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Jammu at Police Shooting Range, Gulshan Ground, here today. About 250 Shooters from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the championship.
The welcome address was presented by Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Sr. Vice-President J&K Rifle Association, who apprized the audience about the activities of JKRA.
The chief guest Dr. Pawan Kotwal in his address lauded the efforts of the J&K Rifle Association and encouraged the participants to give their best in the Championship. He was very happy to learn that the shooters from Jammu and Kashmir are performing exceptionally well at National Level.
Dilbag Singh, ADGP, who is also President of J&K Rifle Association interacted with the shooters. He stressed upon the district units to make their shooting ranges functional so that the shooters in large number could participate in district and state level competitions.
The vote of thanks were presented by A P Mirza, Executive Member, J&K Rifle Association.
Among others present on the occasion were Sohan Lal, Vice-President J&K Rifle Association, Sanam Sony, General Secretary J&K Rifle Association, V S Pathania, Executive Member, Dharamvir Singh Jamwal, Executive Member, Vijay Kumar Commandant IRP-10th Bn. and Sharat Chander Singh, Treasurer J&K Rifle Association.
The matches will be conducted by qualified coaches/technical officials as per NRAI rules.
