Jammu, June 7: A conclave on synergizing Civil Military Operations towards Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari at Air Force Station, Satwari in presence of Air Officer Commanding Jammu, Air Cmdr., Shashi Kant Mishra, Inspector General of Police Jammu, Dr. SD Singh and Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan.
The conclave focused on ensuring synergy between IAF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Administration for deployment of resources towards relief and rescue. A display of rescue equipments and helicopters was done by Indian Air Force. SDRF and F&ES also displayed their equipments and put up a scintillating display of life saving rescue techniques, from high rise damaged buildings, along with display of modern rescue and fire-fighting equipments, and live demonstrations by master trainers under the guidance of Director Disaster Management, which added value to the conclave.

Additional Commissioner Jammu Rehana Batool, Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali, Joint Director Fire, Emergency Services RT Dubey, Divisional Commandant HG Vikas Sharma and SSP Airport Rajinder Gupta and other senior air force officers also participated in the programme.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) to take stock of availability of essential commodities in Jammu province besides functioning of FCS&CA, and Legal Metrology Department (LMD).
Threadbare discussion were held on vital issues pertaining to commodity wise stock position, status of NFSA, Aadhaar seeding, details of ration cards, status of lifting-distribution under NFSA, MMSFES, etc.
Divisional Commissioner had a detailed review of the availability of stocks and supply position in each district. He directed the officers to ensure timely supply of food-grains to each districts. He was informed about the digitization/ computerization process of the department to enable online allocation, supply chain management and grievance redressal mechanism to streamline the public distribution system in Jammu.
While reviewing the progress of Aadhar seeding status, Div Com directed the department to expedite the process of the seeding Ration Cards with Aadhar. He also took stock of progress district wise in this regard.
During the meeting, Director FCS &CA, Jammu, presented a detailed overview of the functioning of the department.
The Div Com impressed upon all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure early redressal of all these vital issues in their respective districts for the convenience of the people.
