SRINAGAR, Apr 17: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the cross LoC trade here today.
Director Industries & Commerce Nazim Zia Khan, Custodian cross-LoC Trade, Deputy Director Planning, representatives of cross LoC trade associations and other concerned were present in the meeting.
The Div Com was informed that 327 trucks are registered with the Department which ply on four days in a week. It was said that total 21 items including fruits, dry fruits and vegetables are exported and imported from both sides of the LoC.
Meeting was informed that full body truck scanners will be installed soon at the crossing point to make trade completely safe, secure and hassle-free.
It was further said that measures for streamlining the trade with regard to registration, assessment, returns, accounts and monitoring are being taken for hassle free trade.
During the meeting, the traders also put forth various issues related to the LoC trade before the Div Com. He assured them that all their concerns will be looked into on priority.
