Div Com urges people to work for social causes

JAMMU, Oct 18: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr MK Bhandari today urged upon the people to work for social causes to uplift the standards of the society.
He was addressing a gathering during a Diwali function organized at Raghunathpura centre of Healthy India Stronger India (HISI), a Non-Government Organization. He presided over the function as chief guest.
The chief guest in his address expressed his pleasure at the initiatives of the NGO and called upon the gathering to come out in large numbers to support the efforts of HISI.
Earlier in his welcome address, chairman of HISI, Hira Lal Abrol apprised the guests about the initiatives of the NGO and facilities offered at the training centre. He informed the gathering that free courses in Cutting & Tailoring, Computer Training, Beautician Course and Cooking are being offered to the needy children along with free Library facilities. He further informed that 300 students have been trained by the centre so far and they all are doing well in their professional life.
The program began with Ganesh Vandana and concluded with a dance performance by the students of the training centre. Gifts in the form of dress material and writing material were distributed to 30 students who are undergoing training in the centre.
