JAMMU, Sept 17: Three day long All J&K Senior and Junior Ranking-cum-Selection Tournament, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association concluded at Badminton Hall, Police Lines, here today.
In Men Singles, Divam Gupta defeated Vipul Saini by 2-1 sets and the score remained 21-16, 18-21 and 21-19. Earlier in the first semifinal, Vipul Saini registered win over Vasu Bhagat by straight 2-0 sets with the score of 21-11 and 21-7, whereas in the second semis, Divum Gupta crushed Vikram by 2-0 sets and the score remained 21-14 and 21-14.
In Women Singles, Keerat smashed Peehushi by 2-1 sets and the score remained 21-11, 6-21 and 21-12.
In Mixed Doubles, Rahul and Prabhjyot defeated Rupal and Rahav by straight 2-0 sets with the score of 21-16 and 21-19. Earlier in the first semis, Rahul and Prabhjot crushed Sunil and Niteshi by 2-1 sets and the score remained 21-16, 18-21 and 22-20, whereas in the second semifinal, Rupal and Ragav registered win over Munish and Keerat by straight 2-0 sets and the score remained 21-10 and 21-18.
In Men Doubles, Vipul and Vikram registered win over Ragav and Sunil by straight 2-0 sets with the score of 21-18 and 21-19.
In under-19 Boys Singles, Divum Gupta beat Ragav Dogra by straight 2-0 sets and the score remained 21-14 and 21-16.
On the valedictory function, Rangil Singh, President, J&K Olympic Association was the chief guest, who awarded the winners and runner-ups in presence of Sudershan Singh Wazir, President, J&K Badminton Association, who was guest of honour.
While speaking, Rangil Singh, President, J&K Olympic Association said that more and more sports activities are required to channelize the youth energy in proper direction.
Among others present were OD Sharma, General Secretary, JKBA, Balbir Jamwal, Secretary, Jammu District Association and Sat Pal Sharma, SAI Badminton coach.
