JAMMU, Mar 6: To assist and facilitate implementation of the Special Package for Development of Sports infrastructure in J&K (PMDP), the State Government has accorded sanction for the constitution of two Divisional level committees, headed by respective Divisional Commissioners.
These committees shall identify land for construction of multipurpose indoor halls, identify sites for construction of synthetic athletic track/synthetic hockey tracks and co-ordinate inter-departmental issues and other local issues related to the implementation of the package.
Each committee shall be comprising of Administrative Secretary, Youth Services and Affairs; Commissioner JMC/SMC; Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district; Secretary J&K Sports Council; Representative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and representative of NPCC Ltd.
The committee shall be serviced by the Youth Service and Sports Department and shall meet on monthly basis or as required.
