Udhampur, Oct 19: Divisional Level Inter District Basketball competition for Boys U-14 & U-17 years was organised at Army Public School ground, here today.
The competition was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Director YSS J&K-UT Subash Chander Chibber. Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Joginder Singh Jasrotia was chief guest who inaugurated the tournament in which about 90 boys drawn from six districts of Jammu division participated in the competition.
Meanwhile, in the closing ceremony, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ghan Sham Singh interacted with the players and officials. He presented the well deserved trophies, medals and honours the winning and runner up teams.
The results in under-14 boy’s competition were Jammu District emerged winners by defeating Samba district by the score of 30-6 and clinched the championship trophy. In the under-17 first semi-final; Jammu district defeated Kathua district by the score of 10-4 and entered into the finals. In the 2nd semi final; Udhampur district defeated Rajouri district by the score of 15-13 and entered into the finals against Jammu. In the final match Udhampur district emerged the winner, by defeating Jammu district with an impressive score of 12-9.
All the matches were officiated by Sanjay Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Ranbir Singh, Ishang Bandral, Deepak Sharma , Vickey Sharma and Jyoti Sharma.
