Dara Divya and Sai Pranav Siddamsetty emerged victorious in the ‘Hyderabad Under-9 Chess selection tournament that was organised by the Hyderabad District Chess Association at Lal Bahadur Stadium here today. They will represent the city in the upcoming Inter-district Chess Tournament. Dara Divya got strong competition from Padma Divya before she eventually broke the deadlock and won the title. In the boys’ category, Sai Pranav was a clear winner. Sreeshwan finished second. Meanwhile, Raana Pramod won the Under-126 title while Harshit Krishna Pokala and Pranav Kondapally took the next two spots.
The Results: Under-9: Girls: 1. Dara Divya, 2. P Padma Divya; Boys: 1. Sai Pranav Siddamsetty, 2. Sreeshwan; Under-16: 1. Raana Pramod, 2. Harshit Krishna Pokala 3. Pranav Kondapally. (UNI)
