JAMMU, Jan 1: J&K Divyang Cricket team defeated Bhardha Cricket Club by 2 wickets and won the series by 2-1 in the 3-One Day Matches Series, organised at Cricket Ground Daskal Akhnoor, near here today.
Bhardha Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Bhardha CC scored 149 by losing all wickets in 26.1 overs. Ashwani made 34 runs, while Shindi scored 31 runs and Vijay and Rizwan contributed 20 & 13 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Sham Singh Langeh got 5 wickets, Ajeet Raj and Abhinav Jamwal shared 2 wickets each and Tarsem Lal got 1 wicket.
In reply, J&K Divyang Cricket chased the target by losing 8 wickets in 27.5 overs and registered 2 wickets win. Rahul Sharma scored 45 runs, while Shammi made 32 runs (not out) and Ajeet Raj and Pritam contributed 16 & 11 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Shindi got 4 wickets, while Anil grabbed 3 wickets and Rizwan got 1 wicket.
Sham Singh Langeh was declared as man of the match, while Rahul Sharma was announced as man of the series and Pardeep Singh and Jagpal acted as umpires, besides Dev Bhagel and Kamal Kishore Verma were the scorers.
The founder president J&K Handicapped Welfare Association was the chief guest on the occasion and Ajay Kumar Sharma (Active president J&K Handicapped Welfare Association) was the guest of honour. They distributed prizes among the players.
