JAMMU, Dec 7: The Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society (DJSES) organized Shining Stars and Silver Spirits Award Ceremony at St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Karan Bagh, here today
The ceremony was graced by Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary School Education as chief guest. Subah Mehta, Joint Director School Education, Jammu was guest of honour while the event was presided over by Rt. Rev. Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar Diocese and President of DJSES.
Also present were dignitaries Jasmeet Singh, Principal Revenue Training Institute and Rev. Fr. Sebastian Nagathumkal, Vice President of DJSES.
The ceremony honoured academic achievements of students in Class X and XII board examinations. From the 24 DJSES schools, 1968 students out of 1,976 passed Class X securing, a remarkable pass percentage of 99.6 per cent, with 657 students scoring above 90 per cent.
In the 6 Higher Secondary Schools, 524 students out of 557 passed Class XII, achieving an impressive pass percentage of 94.1 per cent with 75 students scoring above 90 per cent.
The Society felicitated its employees who completed 25 years of service and presented them mementos as a token of gratitude for their invaluable service.
Inter-School Band Competition, featuring exceptional performances by bands from four DJSES Schools at Kaleeth, Kunjwani, Manwal and Vijaypur was judged by the panel of ASI Shambhu Sharan Singh, Brass Band Master, FTR HQ BSF Jammu, Havildar Renoy Balakrishnan and Havildar B. Devappa of Indian Army Pipe Band. The competition showcased precision, harmony and artistic flair.
After an enthralling contest, Pavantama Convent School, Manwal emerged winner, while Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani secured runner-up position.
The remaining schools were presented with participation trophies and certificates.
The program concluded with vote of thanks by Fr. Sebastian Velankanni.
