UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: District Level Inter-Zonal (DLIZ) Athletic Meet for girls in All Age Groups (AAG) got underway at Subhash Stadium, here today.
About 127 girls drawn from nine zones of District Udhampur participated in the meet, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports Udhampur under the patronage of Gazanfar Ali, Director Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the overall supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Swaran Singh.
In 100 metres, Kanak Sharma of Ramnagar, Sapna Devi of Ramnagar and Sabeena Bibi of Udhampur clinched 1st place in under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively, while in 200 metres, Bandana Devi of Babey, Jyoti Devi of Babey and Pooja Devi of Ramnagar clinched top position in under 14, 17 and 19 respectively and in 400 metres under-14, 17 and 19 category, the top positions were clinched by Vaibhavi of Udhampur, Mamta Devi of Babey and Anayat Bibi of Udhampur respectively.
In 800 metres, Arti Devi of Babey and Anju Devi of Ramnagar stood 1st in under-17 and 19 categories, while, in long jump under-17, Preeti Sharma of Jib stood 1st and Saloni Rani of Chenani remained 1st in under-19, whereas in high jump, 1st three spots were clinched by Sapna Bandral of Udhampur, Lalita Devi of Babey and Veena Akhter of Panchari respectively in under-14, 17 and 19 categories.
In shot put throw, the 1st three places were clinched by Arenya Sharma of Udhampur, Meenakshi Devi of Ghordi and Veena Devi of Panchari in under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively, while in Discus Throw, Sonia Sharma of Ramnagar and Meenakshi Devi of Ghordi stood 1st in under -17 and 19 categories respectively.
The officials who conducted the meet were Raman Kumar, Raj Kumar Dogra, Pooja Sharma, Nisha Sharma, Meenu, Sourab Pandit, Kulbushan Kumar, Rakesh Khajuria, Rishi Kumar Sharma, Vipin Photra, Ravi Kumar, Sudesh Kumar and Vipin Photra.
