DLIZ tournament of Wushu, Chess, Carrom organised

UDHAMPUR, Nov 22:  District Level Inter-Zonal (DLIZ) tournament for boys and girls in all age groups in the disciplines of Wushu, Taekwondo, Chess and Carrom got underway at Subhash Stadium, here today.
About 134 boys and girls drawn from different six zones of Udhampur district participated. The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur under the patronage of Gazanfar Ali, Director Youth Services & Sports UT of J&K and under the overall supervision of DYSSO Udhampur, Swaran Singh.
In Carrom girls category, Neelam Devi of Udhampur, Sonia Sharma of Jib and Sonam Bharti of Udhampur stood 1st in under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively, whereas in boys category, Akhil Sharma and Rinku Sharma of Udhampur remained 1st in under-14 and 17 categories respectively and in Chess girls section, Gourangi Sharma and Bhawana Sharma of Udhampur stood 1st in under-14 and 19 categories respectively, besides in boys section, Arsh Singh, Akul Mengi and Atul Kumar of Udhampur won top positions in under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively.
In Wushu girls section, Anamika Devi and Preeti Kumari of Udhampur zone secured top positions in under19 and 17  categories respectively, while in boys, Sumit Verma of Udhampur and Amarjeet Singh of Kulwanta stood 1st in under-14 and 17 categories respectively, besides in Taekwondo girls section, Batiksha Sharma of Udhampur won 1st places in under-14 in 29-32 kg, while Saanvi Kalra and Aditi Sharma of Jib stood 1st in under-14 and 17 categories respectively and in boys section, Hreedyansh, Antriksh Rajput and Sunil Singh of Udhampur remained 1st in under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively.
The officials who conducted the tournament were Yashpal, Raj Kumar, Nisha Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Sourab Pandit, Rakesh Khajuria, Rajesh Sharma, Chander Kiran, Sunl Dutt Khajuria and many others.
