JAMMU, Dec 26: A meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) for the quarter ending September 2014 of Jammu district was held under the chairmanship of Ajit Kumar Sahu, District Development Commissioner.
The meeting was convened to review the performance of banks regarding achievement under Annual Credit Plan of 2014-15 and the position of deposits, advances and CD ratio.
Lead District Manager Jawahar Koul informed the meeting that deposits of the district were Rs.22624.80 crores and advances Rs.7103.75 crores, as on 30.09.2014. The C.D. Ratio of the district was 31.98%.
Under ACP-2014-15, the achievement of banks was 18.03% against the annual target of Rs.5650.07 crores and the achievement was Rs.1018.66 crores.
Lead District Manager told the house that 176 Financial Literacy Camps were organized by the rural branches of banks in Jammu district upto June 2014. The Chairman stressed on the fact that PMJDY camps should also be held along with the FLC camps in order to ensure 100% coverage under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme.
The Chairman also instructed the banks to ensure 100% survey of unbanked villages and urban wards so that accounts under PMJDY are opened in respect of all eligible persons.
Chairman emphasized that awareness camps regarding banking facilities for education loans should be conducted regularly.
DDC held a detailed review of all the Govt. sponsored schemes with special focus on KCC and PMEGP schemes. He also advised the sponsoring agencies to conduct awareness camps in the panchayats in coordination with banks in this year, so that more and more people are educated, motivated and facilitated.
Chairman stressed on giving targets to various functionaries of Agriculture Department for monitoring of sponsorship of KCC applications, so that 100% coverage of all eligible farmers can be achieved under KCC.
Among others, G. N. Balwan, Additional District Development Commissioner, Suram Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (Development), G.L. Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, R K Sharma, AGM RBI, Madan Gupta, State Project Manager, JKSRLM (Umeed) were also present in the meeting.
