DLSA Kathua reviews delivery of Legal Aid Services

KATHUA, Apr 29: Under the aegis of NALSA and as per the Action Plan issued by the J&K Legal Services Authority for the month of April, 2024, Mentoring & Monitoring Committee Kathua today met in the Conference Hall of ADR Centre Kathua to review the delivery of Legal aid Services and the progress of the cases in Legal Aided Matters and to guide and advise the Panel Lawyers.
The meeting was held under the overall Supervision of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. Distt & Sessions Judge Kathua), Ashok Kumar Shavan and chaired by Presiding Officer of Monitoring and Mentoring Committee (Addl. District & Sessions Judge) Kusoom Pandita, while the Secretary DLSA joined the meeting as the member of the Monitoring and Mentoring Committee.
The meeting was also attended by officers of LADCs Kathua and the Panel Lawyers. The progress report of the Legal Aid Cases allotted to the Panel Lawyers was discussed in the meeting along with other issues connected thereto.
The Panel Lawyers were advised by the Committee to serve selflessly to the poor, needy and marginalized sections of the society and ensure punctuality in attending the Legal Aid Cases pending in the Courts of District Kathua. They were further asked to report the proceedings of the Legal Aid Cases at the Front office and to seek necessary guidance, if required, from the Committee.
