KISHTWAR, July 17: On the basis of plentiful complaints received from Project authorities with regard to law and order problems created by some miscreants at project sites thereby causing hindrance in the smooth execution of works, District Magistrate, Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today issued strict prohibitory orders at the project sites under Section 144 of CrPC.
The order reads that, “Whereas, construction of Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Project has been allotted to M/s AFCON Jal Joint Venture & M/s JP Associate Limited by the concerned CVPP authorities. There are frequent complaints from the executing agencies that some miscreants are misleading and instigating the concerned youth/Zamindars/public of the area to get ready for agitation/strikes against the management of the Project and as such are creating hindrances in construction work of the power Project at specified places”.
“The management of the Project has reported that some misled local youth/locals have created sense of insecurity and fear in minds of management and have vitiated the peaceful environment in the area, as a result of which the construction work of the Power Project has been withheld,” reads the order.
The order said that for smooth construction of Power project, maintenance of peace, tranquility and law and order at construction sites i.e Pakal Dul Dam site (F-con Colony), Power Project area (Arzi and Tenji), Colony to New Power Project site and Dangduroo Dachhan, prohibitory Orders under Section 144 CrPC stands imposed by DM Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana in which Assembly of five or more persons at above-mentioned places/locations is strictly prohibited till further order.
Further, carrying of procession, weapons, lathis, stones etc has also been prohibited at the above stated places. DM remarked that administration shall not tolerate any kind of illegal disturbance at project sites and who so ever try to vitiate the environment at project sites, shall be taken to task.
