POONCH, Aug 23: The District Magistrate, Poonch has written a communiqué to SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra directing proper investigation into the alleged murder of a woman in Bufliaz area of Surankote Sub Division last week.
Official sources said that this communiqué was forwarded by the DM, following a representation by Asif Khan, son of the deceased woman, who has alleged that the case was being hushed up and sought detailed postmortem and initiation of legal action against the accused persons.
“One Asif Khan, son of Mohammed Sharief Khan, resident of Bufliaz, in Surankote, district Poonch appeared before the District Magistrate with representation alleging that his mother namely Masooma Begum has been brutally murdered by some persons (names mentioned in the representation) on 18-08-2022,” reads the communication sent to the SSP by the DM Poonch.
When her dead body was found in the evening she was buried without any effective legal action to hush up the things. The representation contains a detailed explanation of events. He has requested for conducting post-mortem of the deceased and initiating legal action,” the communication adds.
