SRINAGAR, July 2: The National General Secretary of Rashtriya Lok Jansakhti Party (RLJP), Sanjay Saraf today said that the trucks carrying fresh fruits and other commodities out of Kashmir should be provided a hassle-free passage.
Talking to the reporters here, Saraf said that during the movement of Amarnath Yatris from Jammu to the valley, on the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the movement of trucks carrying the essential goods, and fruits need to be ensured without any halt.
“Many fruits have been produced in Kashmir at present which go to the outside markets and if these vehicles are made to halt, the fruit would suffer damages,” he said.
On the occasion, dozens of workers joined the party which included activists from Ganderbal, along with their team led by Sarpanch. The workers on the occasion termed RLJP as a party of democratic and secular values.
Saraf while welcoming the new entrants said that the RLJP will continue to advocate for the solution of all the problems of the people while keeping Kashmiriyat alive.
He said that the annual Amarnath Yatra after three years is a good omen while hoping that the Yatra would be peaceful.
He said that the people from the majority section will have to play a role to make the Yatra safe and successful. “They have played a role even in the past, and this is the beauty of Kashmir,” he said.
Saraf said that the Yatris could act as ambassadors of Kashmir and promote hospitality in their respective areas, which, he said, would further boost the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
While appreciating the efforts of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Saraf said that the role he has played in promoting tourism in the Valley this year is commendable as there have been a record number of people visiting Kashmir this year.
“The power and Drinking water situation had also improved but much more remained to be done, and I hope the road network would also improve.”
