Dogra College organizes alumni meet

JAMMU, Apr 8: Dogra College of Education organized alumni meet today with aim to reconnect alumni of various academic sessions since inception of the College in 1994.
The event commenced with presenting the sapling to chief guest, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust (DET) followed by lighting of traditional lamp.
Students of the College welcomed the alumni with Saraswati Vandana. Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education updated the alumni about new initiatives taken up by the institution and emphasized on the significant role of the alumni as stakeholders in development of the institution.
The event was marked with cultural programme by students.
Many alumni from different sessions gathered to revive their old memories. Videos and audios of the alumni who were not able to attend the meet were also played. The alumni appreciated the efforts of the faculty and College administration and opined that alumni meet should be organized more frequently.
Prof. (Dr.) Darshana Sharma, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges impressed upon the alumni to join the alumni Association of the College.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET in his address appreciated the faculty members for organizing alumni meet, which created a special bond between the students who have passed out and have established themselves already in the outside world and the College.
Souvenirs to the alumni from various batches were also presented by the chief guest.
Prominent those present on the occasion were Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Alumni and Member Trustee DET; Dr. Bela Charak, Principal, Dogra Degree College; Dr. Shefali Sharma, IQAC/Academic Coordinator and staff members of the College.
The meet concluded with vote of thanks by Shivali Mehta, Lecturer, Dogra College of Education followed by National Anthem.
