JAMMU, Feb 16: Dogra Degree College organized a thought-provoking lecture on the laws governing anti-ragging and sexual harassment here today.
The event was attended by a diverse audience comprising students and staff. The lecture commenced with a solemn lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the illumination of knowledge. This ritual underscored Dogra Degree College’s commitment to shedding light on important societal issues such as ragging and sexual harassment.
Arushi Khajuria, a distinguished legal expert and keynote speaker for the event, delivered a compelling address on the legal frameworks surrounding anti-ragging and sexual harassment. Shuchi Sharma, Assistant Professor, Dogra Law College provided a detailed overview of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The audience was captivated by the speaker’s insights and expertise, gaining a deeper understanding of the legal provisions aimed at preventing and addressing these issues.
