BARI BRAHMANA, Feb 22: Dogra College of Education, Dogra Law College and Dogra Degree College hosted two day annual sports meet 2024-25 and it was inaugurated on February 21 with the arrival of dignitaries followed by an introduction and welcome address by Aditi, Faculty, Dogra Degree College.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Bela Thakur, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges.
The passing of the torch to Dr. Bela Thakur was done by Vishal Verma, BBA student of Dogra Degree College who has the honour of being the only cadet from J&K to participate in Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Gujarat.
The day continued with various sports events including volleyball matches, tug of war and Kho-Kho competitions for both boys and girls.
The events also featured long jump, shot put and indoor games like table tennis, chess and carom.
Second day of the event today saw competitions like Badminton Singles and Doubles (Girls and Boys).
The grand felicitation ceremony featured the arrival of distinguished guests, including Ravish Vaid, Table Tennis Coach and Faculty, Director of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Ravish Vaid was presented with a sapling by Dr. Komila Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, Dogra Law College.
The felicitation continued with the concluding remarks by Dr. Dharmveer Sharma, Dean, Dogra Group of Colleges, followed by the presentation of a memento by Dr Bela Thakur as a gratitude to Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba (in absentia) which was received by Ravish Vaid on behalf of Dr. Daud Iqbal.
The event concluded with the distribution of trophies and medals to the winners and participants.
Overall Winner Trophy was won by Dogra Degree College.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Gulshan Sharma, CTO/ANO, NCC Unit, Dogra Degree College.
