Doon Int’l School triumphs Football tourney

JAMMU, Dec 21: Doon International School (DIS), Jammu, once again demonstrated its sporting prowess by winning the U-12 Inter-School Football Tournament, ‘The Little Legend’s Cup 2024’. Organized under the banner of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex and hosted by DIS Jammu, the tournament featured 20 reputed CBSE school teams.
The tournament concluded today with DIS Jammu emerging as the undisputed champions. Their strategic play and teamwork were pivotal to their success. In the final match, DIS Jammu faced tough competition but triumphed with a convincing 3-0 victory, securing the gold medal and the champion’s trophy.
Jammu Sanskriti School finished 4th, while Heritage School secured 3rd place. Chief guest for the event, Dushyant Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police and President of the Olympic Association of J&K, praised the sportsmanship displayed by the students and stressed the importance of providing such young talents with more opportunities to excel. He also commended the efforts of Jammu Sahodaya, led by Dr. Vikesh Kaur, and the entire DIS faculty for organizing the event so meticulously.
The entire school community, including Chairman G.N. Tantray, Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Vice Chairman M.A. Tantray, Director Leesan Ul Nabi, Ehsan Ul Nabi, Vice Principal Dr. Sarita Moza Koul and Headmistress Shivali Singh Pathania, congratulated the students and sports department for their outstanding achievement.
