KISHTWAR, Feb 19: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara today placed a Returning Officer and five Assistant Returning Officers under suspension for dereliction of duties.
The suspended Returning Officer and Assistant returning Officers RO/ARO have failed to report for training programmes held in connection with the recently announced Panchayat by-elections 2020.
The suspended officers failed to attend the training sessions despite repeated notices and intimations through District Control Room.
The suspended officials included Mohd Yaseen Sirwal, Assistant Professor; Intikhab Alam, AE JPDCL; Arun Kumar, AE JPDCL; Abdul Khaliq Zargar, Lecturer; Jaswant Singh, Lecturer and Shabir Ahmed Butt, Lecturer.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has been appointed as an enquiry officer who shall conduct an enquiry into the matter and recommend further action against the erring employees within a week’s time. The salary of the officers has also been kept with held till further orders.
