DPS clinches Champions Trophy in Inter School Literary Competition

JAMMU, Aug 1: Delhi Public School (DPS) won Champions Trophy in Inter School Literary Competition “Thespian-2016-17” organized by KC International School.
In the competition, 14 schools from all over the Jammu Province participated.
In the Inter School Drama Category, the students of DPS Jammu won second prize for “The Merchant of Venice” performed by them. The Best Actress award went to Vanshee Koul of XI E, who played ‘Portia’ and the Best Supporting Actor award was presented to Sidhant Pandita of XI B, who portrayed the Jew ‘Shylock’.
The other actors were Alamgir Khanna of XI H, Saiba Sheikh of X A, Soheila Sharma of XI I, Rameshwar Dalmotra of X A and Ashutosh Kumar of XI F.
In the Inter School Declamation Category, Mahavir Singh of XI B, won the first prize for representing Carl Sagan, the Astrophysicist, on the topic ‘A Pale Blue Dot’. Mahavir received a rare standing ovation from the audience for his remarkable performance.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, congratulated all the winners and their parents for the outstanding achievement.
The team was guided by English Teachers Manpreet Kour and Poonam Chattoo.
