DPS Jammu organises inter-house swimming tournament

JAMMU, Sept 1: Two days long inter-house boys and girls swimming tournament organized by the Sports Department of the DPS Jammu concluded today.
It was organized in an endeavour to promote the level of sports and games among the students of the school, in which five houses namely Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Tawi and Yamuna participated.
The competition was held in different age categories.
In under-14 boys and girls category, the Gold medal winners were Divyan of VII-I, Divyansh of VIII-B, Jaitej of VI-E, Siya Singh of VIII-E and Vaniya of VI-A. In under-17 boys and girls, the Gold medal winners were Zorawar of IX-A, Bhuvendeep of IX-E, Chirag of X-A and Sehjan of IX-A. In under-19 boys and girls, the Gold medal winners were Sidhant of XII-B, Ritik of XI-C, Tamisha of XI-J and Sukhmit of XI-D.
In under-12 girls, Suditi of V-H won Gold medal, Shambhavi of IV-G won Silver medal and Sheen of V-C won Bronze medal. In addition to above, 14 students won silver medals and 9 students clinched bronze medals.
The Overall trophy was shared by Ganga and Yamuna Houses.
Ruchi Chabra, Principal asked the students to participate in sports activities to keep their body mentally anf physically fit.
Meenu Gupta, Headmistress stressed that the students should participate more and more to inculcate sportsmanship among them.
