DPS Jammu organizes ‘Entrepreneurial Express-Version 1.0’

JAMMU, Dec 27: Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu organized ‘Entrepreneurial Express-Version 1.0’- an event inspired and designed on the pattern of the famous Television series ‘Shark Tank’ for the students of class VIII to XI.
Seven different groups comprising two student innovators each from classes VIII to XI presented their thoroughly researched business ideas and product proto types, explaining the investors about their inspiration for their business model, key product features, marketing strategies, growth plan, gross sales, projected sales, net profit, cost of goods, profit margin, etc.
The sharks on the other hand, cross-questioned the innovators about their business processes whether P2P, R2R and other practical operational insights necessary for successful entrepreneurship. All the participants well-exemplified the tag line of the event- “A Goal without a Timeline is just a Dream”.
The highlight of the event was JARVIS- a voice modulated artificially intelligent video system designed and developed by Aakash Sharma (XI) who introduced the program, laid out the ground rules and even concluded the show by acknowledging the efforts of all team members.
Third position was bagged by two teams- Himanshu and Manaswin of class-IX and Saanvi Anand (X-B) and Savya Anand (XI-A) for their respective ideas on portable cancer detection device-Swasthya Sarthi, and biodegradable and eco-friendly sanitary pads-Saahsi.
Adaa Mahajan and Bhindeep Kaur stood second for their concept on a stress detecting smart watch-The Wrist Hug, while the first position was bagged by Kriday Misri and Vaidik Taggar of class IX who presented the idea of SWACH-X, a device that would enable garbage detection based on the principle of echolocation. The title of the Best Shark/Investor was bagged by Aakash Sharma (Vice Head Boy).
Ruchi Chabra (Principal, DPS Jammu) said that there is a great need for start-ups in J&K to capitalise on the skill, creativity and innovation of the youth.
Meenu Gupta (Head Mistress, DPS Jammu), Umesh Sharma (Deputy Head Master and Chief Coordinator), Mrignaini Pathania, Anu Bali and Arti Sharma were also present on the occasion.
