DPS Jammu wins Inter-DPS National Heritage Festival

JAMMU, Dec 26: Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu brought laurels to the institution by securing second position and Jury’s Appreciation Award in Inter-DPS Heritage Festival and Art Exhibition ‘Itihaas Ke Jharoke Se-2017’ held at DPS Noida.
The competition was organized by the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi at National level wherein several branches of DPS Schools from all over India participated.
DPS Jammu participated in four main events ‘Maati Pukare’- The tradition of Folk music, ‘Lost recipes’-Bhooli Bisri Pak Vidhi, ‘Sanrachna’-Unique aspects of our heritage and Inter-DPS National Art Exhibition.
DPS Jammu secured ‘Jury Appreciation Award’ in ‘Maati Pukare’, where the children depicted the history, handicrafts, architectural glory and customs of Leh, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir.
They also won second position in the ‘Lost recipes’ competition in which they prepared and presented the authentic ‘Dogri Cuisine’. Both the items received lot of appreciation from the judges.
The winners of ‘Maati Pukare’ were Wamik Wasim Nargal (XI-A), Ujjwal Nargotra (XI-A), Vasu Khajuria (IX-F), Pranav Bhasin (IX-F), Sampada Modi (XI-F), Tanvi Kaushal (VIII-B), Riya Sharma (VIII-D), Mehul Abrol (IX-G), Samaiya Mir (VIII-G), Arya Aggarwal (VIII-E), Vedant Suri (VIII-E), Rajyavardhan (VIII-H), Meet Bakshi (VIII-D) and Gauri Sharma (XI-H).
The team was mentored by Shalini Pradhan and Suresh Kumar.
The second position holders of ‘Lost recipes’ were Rimjhim Gupta (XI-J), Gazal Dogra (XI-J), Ayushi Sharma (XI-E) and Payal Singh (XI-J).  The team was mentored by Tanvi Gupta.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra and Headmistress, Meenu Gupta lauded the students for this achievement.
