JAMMU, Nov 15: Dhruv Gupta of Class 10th and Raghav Gupta of Class XIIth of Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu created magical history for the Institution by winning overall Championship trophy in prestigious Inter-DPS Skating Nationals held from November 11 to November 13, 2016 at DPS Karnal in Haryana.
52 players drawn from 26 DPS Schools from all over India participated in different Skating events.
Dhruv Gupta was awarded with the Best Player’s trophy of the tournament by winning Gold in 750 mtrs race with a record timing of 2:07:47 micro seconds and Silver in Time Trial (300 m) race with a record timing of 47:99 seconds, while Raghav Gupta qualified for semifinals of 750 m race.
Thus DPS lifted the overall Championship for their school by winning 8 points out of 10. The skaters were guided in their achievements by coach, Arnav Mahajan.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chhabra congratulated both the winners, their parents and the coach, Arnav Mahajan and remarked that the Championship award would serve as encouragement for other young skaters to follow their foot steps.
