LEH, Feb 7: Adding to its string of achievements, dedicated faculty of DPS Leh, Kunzez Angmo and Rinchen Dolma, along with student, Edzes Angmo of Class X won the coveted Silver medal in the historic inaugural Women’s Khelo India Ice Hockey Tournament held at NDS Stadium from February 2 to 6, 2024.
Prior to this achievement, the talented trio from DPS Leh clinched the gold medal and cash award of Rs. 2.5 lakh in the 11th National Ice Hockey Championship (Women’s category) during Khelo India Winter Games 2024 held in Kaza, Himachal Pradesh from January 19 to 25. Representing ‘Maryul Spamo,’ the team showcased exceptional skill in the event jointly organized by the Ice Hockey Association of India, Ice Hockey of Lahaul Spiti, and Spiti Administration.
Moreover, DPS Leh also emerged victorious in the inaugural Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League, conducted in collaboration with UT Ladakh and the Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh at NDS Stadium in Leh.
Major General (Retired) Mohinder Kumar Sagoch, Director of DPS Leh commended the triumphant trio and acknowledged the dedicated staff members whose guidance paved the way for the bright future of the students. Priyam Shukla, Principal of DPS Leh, praised the faculty and students for their outstanding achievements and expressed her hopes for the school’s continued pursuit of excellence in education, sports, and co-curricular activities.
