JAMMU, Dec 27: Delhi Public School Nagbani celebrated its first Annual Day Function with zeal and zest, here today.
All the students of the school participated with enthusiasm and fervour.
Sat Sharma, BJP State President and MLA Jammu West graced the occasion as the chief guest and Sukhnandan Choudhary, MLA Marh, Jammu and Simrandeep Singh, Chairman Services Selection Board were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others who attended the function were SS Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Society, New Delhi and Director of the school and Ruchi Chabra, Principal, Delhi Public School Jammu.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, guests of honour and other dignitaries.
This was followed by Sarswati Vandana performed by the tiny scholars of the school.
The Principal of the school RK Verma presented welcome address and read the school’s annual report.
The theme of the function was based on ‘Paryavaran’ which commenced with presentation of a message by the school students who exhibited their hidden talent and emotions through various characters and pointed out towards the imbalance in the environment which touched the heart of the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma, chief guest spoke very high about the school for adopting ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ introduced by Prime Minister of India and stated that it is the need of the hour to save environment for the betterment of the mankind. He also appreciated the performance of the students.
Sukhnandan Choudhary, guest of honour stated that he is happy to know that the school has taken various steps to save the environment from pollution.
Mr Simrandeep appreciated the Management of the school for opening DPS in pollution free area for the betterment of the students.
SS Sodhi, Chairman, J&K Intellectual Society, New Delhi and Director of the school apprised the audience about the ‘Paryavaran’ and the green school award received by DPS Nagbani from IGBC, World which was applauded by one and all.
