JAMMU, May 20: Delhi Public School (DPS) Nagbani (Jammu) hosted an exceptional cultural programme themed ‘Atulya Bharat’ (Incredible India), showcasing the nation’s rich cultural tapestry, heritage and unity, here today.
The event was a meticulously crafted blend of various cultural hues, highlighting the diverse traditions of India. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the Principal of the School, R K Verma to chief guest S S Sodhi (PVC/Director-Delhi Public Schools, J&K) and the guests of honour Ruchi Chabra (Principal DPS Jammu), Manikarnika Sharma (Incharge Principal, DPS Katra) and Simmi Sharma (Manager Operation, DPS Katra).
The dignitaries graced the occasion by lighting the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the start of the festivities. The students of the school presented a breathtaking array of performances, vividly portraying the rich cultural tapestry of India, the valor of the nation’s great freedom fighters, and the evolution of modern India. In his address, the Principal shared words of motivation, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and the role of education in preserving it.
The event was an unforgettable experience, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. A spectacular display of talent and fervor, the highlight of the programme was the Dogri dance which received unceasing applause and proved to be an astounding visual treat for all spectators. The students expressed their firm desire to see India ranked among the top nations globally through their heartfelt performances. The event featured a myriad of activities like cultural performances and traditional art displays.
In his words, Sodhi said that DPS Nagbani remains committed to nurturing talent and fostering a sense of pride in India’s cultural heritage among its students by assuring the parents of the school.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Bhawana Madaan (Headmistress), acknowledging the contributions of all involved.
The event concluded on a high note with the singing of the National Anthem. The programme was coordinated by Harshita Singh.
