DPS student Soham selected for World Youth Chess C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 15: Soham Kamotra of class IX, a child prodigy of DPS Jammu has brought laurels to the State and his school as well by being selected to represent India in the upcoming World Youth Chess Championship-2019.
Earlier, in July, Soham was selected to participate in the National Sub-Junior Chess Championship held in Kolkata. Out of the total 320 players, Soham secured 17th rank and was among the top 20 players selected for the World Youth Chess Championship.
Soham has also played Delhi International Chess tournament and Commonwealth Chess Championship and is one of the highest rated Chess players of J&K State.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra and Headmistress, Meenu Gupta honoured Soham for his exceptional achievement.
