JAMMU, Dec 5: Dr Deepak Abrol from GMC Jammu and a collaborative team of SMVDU Katra brought laurels to J&K by bagging the best research paper award in 38th AROI Conference (AROICON) held recently at Bubneshwar in Orissa.
The paper was presented by Dr Deepak Abrol and the award was presented to him by Dr Philip Portman. The title of the study was “XRCC1 gene polymorphism and their association with lung cancer”. The study cited in the paper is research work of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a research scholar of department of Biotechnology, SMVDU Katra. The study has been done in collaboration with GMC Jammu.
The conference was attended by highly reputed oncologists from India and abroad. It is worth mentioning that this feat could be achieved only because of the research MoU signed between the GMC Jammu and SMVDU Katra, after the direction of Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat and Secretary, H&ME Department, Dr MK Bandari.
The MOU was executed by Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Zahid Gilani & VC, SMVDU Katra, Dr Sanjeev jain.
