Dr Dogra gets B C Roy Award

JAMMU, Mar 29: Son of the soil, Dr P N Dogra, Professor and Head of Urology Department in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has been awarded the prestigious Dr B C Roy Award for excellence in the field of medicine.
He received the honour from President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, at a function held yesterday at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The B C Roy Award is top most award in Medical Science and it was instituted in 1976 by Medical Council of India.
Dr P N Dogra hails from village Kot Bhalwal in Jammu and he did his schooling from Domana High School and MBBS from Government Medical College Jammu. Later, he did MS and Mch from PGI Chandigarh.
Dr Dogra has an impeccable academic standing -over 80 publications in various National and International journals of repute, has contributed chapters in 15 books and was conferred Hon. Degree of D Sc by Kolkata University. As a scholar and teacher of outstanding merit, Dr Dogra has trained over 120 M Ch postgraduates in Urology,
currently working all over the country and abroad.
Dr Dogra is an outstanding surgeon interested in all fields of Urology -Endo-Urology, Recons-tructive Surgery, Uro-oncology, Laparoscopic and Robotic Urologic Surgery.
He has delivered the prestigious P N Kataria Memorial Oration and Marudhar Jodhpur Trust Oration from NZUSI, Prof B B Ohri Memorial Oration from MP-ASI. He has received award from International Atomic Energy Agency, New Zealand, Rashtriya Gaurav Award and Glory of India Award by India International Friendship Society.
He has also been Visiting Faculty to University of South California, Columbia University Medical Centre and Cornelly Presbygterian Hospitals, USA He is the president of the Urological Society of India.
