Meanwhile, a delegation of All India Federation of Diploma Engineers led by its Secretary General, Manmohan Rajbongshi called on Dr Jitendra Singh and sought his intervention for redressal of their long pending grievances relating to pay scales and promotion.
In a memorandum submitted to Dr Jitendra Singh, the delegation pointed out that there were more than 5 lakh diploma engineers in Central and State Governments as well as in autonomous bodies across the country and therefore, giving justice to them would bring satisfaction to lakhs of families across the country.
They also submitted that a large number of selected Engineer candidates do not prefer to join Government Departments and equal number of them who join the Government Departments, quit the job subsequently, because of the poor pay scale and poor career prospects in comparison to pay structure and career prospects offered in private sector.
Dr Jitendra Singh gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that their various suggestions, inputs and grievances submitted by them, will be put up at the appropriate forum for consideration.
