Dr Jitendra arrives in Belgrade for 3-day official visit

BELGRADE, Oct 12: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh arrived here today, the historic capital  city of erstwhile Yugoslavia and presently the capital of the Republic of Serbia, on a 3-day official visit, at the behest of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The visit assumes significance because it happens to be the first ever official tour to this country by any Minister of the Modi Government.
The official itinerary of Dr Jitendra Singh will begin with a one-to-one meeting with the Prime Minister of Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu. This will be followed by separate meetings with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Maja Gojkovi and the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Serbia namely Rasim Ljaji and Ivica Dai.
In addition to signing of important MoUs, Dr Jitendra Singh will also be holding separate meetings with the Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, Minister for Environment & Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic, Minister of Health Zlatibor Lonar and Minister for Culture & Information Vladan Vukosavljevi.
Dr Jitendra Singh is also scheduled to meet the representatives of business and trade as well as the members of the Indian community.
Earlier, on his arrival here today at the Nikola Tesla Airport, Dr Jitendra Singh was received by senior functionaries of the Government of Republic of Serbia, Indian Ambassador to Serbia and senior members of diplomatic corp.
