JAMMU, Oct 22: Vertebro-plasty procedures one of the advance pain procedure of pain management that is done in cases of compression fractures of vertebra was done by Dr Rohit Lahori Interventional Pain Specialist at JK Medicity on a 76years old female patient who was suffering from compression fracture of 12th Thoracic Vertebra and had severe pain.
Dr Lahori said that the patient was unable to sit or stand since two months .The bone cement was injected through a small hole in the skin into a fractured vertebra to relieve back pain caused by a vertebral compression and to repair the fractured vertebral segment, he added.
He said no incision was given to patient and the procedure was done under local Anesthesia.
The patient has lot of co morbidity and was unfit for Anesthesia to undergo surgery. He was discharged on the same day of surgery and patient walked herself out of hospital.
