JAMMU, Sept 27: Vice President Badminton Association of India and Chairman J&K Badminton Association, Dr OD Sharma inaugurated Jammu Masters Badminton Championship -2018 in an impressive, well attended and colourful function at Police Lines Badminton Hall, here today.
The Championship is being organised by Tigers Badminton Club under the Chairmanship of Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K.
288 Master Badminton players of the Country were present at inaugural ceremony.
The qualifying matches were played today and the main draws will start tomorrow morning.
Star Badminton players are also participating in this sports extravaganza. The players include Shrikant Bakshi (Delhi), Ramlakhan (Punjab), SS Pundir (UK), Nitin Mehta (UP) Sourav Saxena (UP) O.Gorge (Kerala) and Darmender Duneja (UK).
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Suryaveer Sharma, (Rajasthan) National Refree, Umpire Deepak Kumar and Maitri.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary J&K Badminton Association, Sultan Mirza, Basanti Bhat, Vivek Mehta, S. Sarvanan, Sukhdev Singh, Raju Chawla, Lalit Arora and Sukhdev Singh.
