Jammu, Feb 12: Dr T. R. Raina , former Professor & Head Blood Bank Government Medical College Jammu and presently Administrator Swami Vivekananda Charitable Hospital Ambphala Jammu has been nominated as Member of the Expert Committee for strengthening of Quality Control Testing of Blood Group Reagents at the National Institute of Biologicals New Delhi under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The terms of reference of the Committee shall be to provide technical expertise for Quality Control of testing Procedures, Parameters and Policy for Quality Control evolution of Blood Grouping Reagents being used in the Blood Banks across the country. The tenure of the committee shall be for two years.
In recognition of his services in the field of Transfusion Medicine at the national level, Dr Raina is already functioning as technical Member of Advisory Committee of Haemovigilance Programme of India and National Blood Cell (NBC) under Ministery of Health & Family Welfare Government of India. He is also the Secretary General of Governing Body of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI).
