Dr Rashmi delivers lecture on ‘Monsoon Menace Prevention’

JAMMU, Aug 18: Dr. Rashmi Sharma, MD Menace from Govt College , Gandhi Nagar was invited to GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust to address the Middle and the Senior School students about Monsoon Menace in India and it’s preventive measures.
Dr. Sharma said that stagnant water is the root cause of all water borne diseases, adding that one needs to ensure that there is no stagnation of water as it leads to breeding of insects.
She spoke at length about a healthy, balanced and a nutritious diet which needs to be followed.
She said that we also need to keep ourselves thoroughly hydrated because of excessive humidity which leads to loss of water from our body in the form of perspiration. Malaria , Hepatitis, Dengue, Viral fever throat infection etc. are of the dangerous and often fatal diseases during Monsoons which need to be addressed by taking immediate action.
Apart from the Monsoons, Dr. Sharma also rendered a small yet meaningful talk about the ‘Adolescent Age’ and the changes that occur in all young teenagers – physical , hormonal , emotional, psychological, etc.
The Principal of the School, Dr. RP Singh was also present on the occasion.
