KATRA, May 5: Dr. Ritu Singh – founder/ trustee, MHSSEF (J&K) launched ‘Garima & Amanat’- an initiative towards financial literacy and healthcare awareness for work forces, skilled and unskilled labour forces as a first of its kind outreach in collaboration with SBI/ J&K Bank and Govt. Hospital Katra, here today.
The morning began with chanting of Gayatri mantra invoking blessings for all present lending an air of divinity at the foothill of Trikuta hills of Mata Vaishno Devi.
Thereafter, a camp pertaining to an initiative “Garima” in collaboration with J&K Bank was launched by Dr Ritu Singh at Delhi Public School, Katra for the well being of the labour force.
The J&K Bank team explained schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. They also highlighted the benefits of the schemes which cater to people in the age group of 18-70 years with a bank account. 100 people were registered under this scheme.
A free medical camp for the labour force working at DPS Katra was also organized in association with BMO, Katra Hospital- Dr. Gopal Dutt, where a team of doctors from Katra Hospital provided preventive healthcare services.
Dr. Ritu Singh expressed her gratitude to Branch Head and team- J&K Bank and Dr Gopal Dutt- BMO, Govt. Hospital, Katra and all the doctors, nurses, and volunteers from the Govt. Hospital, Katra for their collaboration and making this initiative a success.
Plants and beautiful photographs of the shrine were presented as mementos to the Branch Head and team- J&K Bank and the team of doctors.
“The aforementioned schemes will improve the livelihood as well as to develop a sense of belongingness and security among the labour force and their families for leading a better life,” said Dr Ritu.
