JAMMU, Sept 17: Dr. Vikas Sharma, son of Harbans Lal Sharma and Pushplata Sharma, resident of Jammu got Best Poster Paper Presentation Award in National Conference on Natural Resource Management recently held at Shillong Campus of Central Agricultural University, Imphal.
The award that contains a Certificate of Excellence along with memento was presented to Dr. Sharma by R V Lingdoh, Minister of Soil and Water Conservation, Government of Meghalaya.
The paper entitled “Syzygium cumini seeds possess in vitro anticancer, antibacterial and antifungal potential” discussed about in vitro cytotoxic effect of Jamun seeds against four human cancer cells, four bacterial strains and three phytopathogenic fungi..
Working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Biochemistry, Faculty of Basic Sciences, SKUAST-Jammu, Dr. Sharma has 11 years experience of research and teaching. He got many National and International awards from various Govt. Organizations for his contributions in the field of Science.  He has more than 100 publications of to his credit including full length research papers, book chapters, abstracts, articles etc.
