SRINAGAR, Dec 24: Dedicating his victory to the party cadre and the people of Rajpura constituency,  senior PDP leader Dr Haseeb Drabu has expressed gratitude to the people of Pulwama and Shopian districts in general and Rajpora constituency in particular for reposing faith in him and his party by giving a decisive mandate.
“As I have already made a commitment with the people of the area that I won’t let them down, if elected to the State legislature, I not only stand by my pledge but reiterate the same after having got the people’s mandate to make a new start and meet the great challenges ahead,” Drabu said while addressing a grand reception organized by the people of Rajpora constituency to felicitate him on his victory in the Assembly polls.
Drabu said he is especially overwhelmed by the support extended by the youth of the area to the inclusive and progressive policies of his party aimed at JK’s political stability and economic prosperity. “It is an honour to be nominated for this position and I assure my people that under the visionary leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, our party would work with fresh zeal towards mitigating the sufferings of the State and its people,” Drabu said and added that credit for PDP’s impressive performance in the twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian goes to the disciplined, dedicated and ideologically motivated cadres of PDP and people of the area.
He complimented PDP cadres for having successfully and effectively carried the party’s political and economic agenda to the grass-root level. “It is because of the untiring and selfless efforts of the PDP cadres that their party has today become a real people’s movement across Jammu and Kashmir,” he said and added that he would also like to express his gratitude to those also who couldn’t vote in this election for various reasons.
“Our endeavor would be to respond to and mitigate the complex problems of the State as it is with decades long political uncertainty, development deficit, unfulfilled aspirations, mounting unemployment, corruption, nepotism and favoritism,” he said and added that as already announced, he would strive towards making district Pulwama and Shopian as the model districts on socio-economic indicators.
