KARGIL, Jan 13: The Zonal Level Ice Hockey Tournament under Khelo India Ladakh Winter Games, 2021 concluded at Ice Hockey Rink Goushan Drass here today.
Executive Councilor (EC) for Power and Works, Mubarak Shah Nagvi was present on the occasion as chief guest.
Incharge Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Drass Muhammad Hassan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma besides other officers and officials of Youth Services and Sports department, Sub Divisional level officers were also present on the occasion.
EC Mubarak Shah Nagvi congratulated the Department of Youth Services and Sports for the successful conduct of the zonal level Ice Hockey tournaments throughout the district including Drass Sub Division.
The EC also congratulated the winner and runner up teams for their wonderful performance in the final match. He hoped that players who have been selected for inter-district level tournament will excel in upcoming inter-district tournament and bring laurels to the district in general and Drass in particular.
EC Shah said that LAHDC Kargil is committed to promote Ice Hockey game in Kargil district and in this regard adequate funds have been sanctioned to the concerned department for purchasing equipments required in Ice Hockey.
Meanwhile, DYSSO Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma said that a total number of 7 teams from various parts of Drass participated in the tournament.
Earlier, the final match was played between Drass Red and Goushan Blue which was won by Drass Red by 6-0 goals.
