JAMMU, Mar 30: Police arrested a driver along with large quantity of intoxicants from Bakshi Nagar bridge.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar police station laid a naka at Bakshi Nagar bridge near Pawan Ice Cream and intercepted a Scorpio car bearing registration number JK02BF-0047.
During checking, police recovered 168 intoxicant capsules and 30 tablets from the possession of the driver and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Manik Sharma, son of Bhushan Sharma, a resident of Supwal, district Samba.
A case under FIR Number 58/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar police station Inspector Ashwani Sharma and assisted by Deepak Katoch and Tara Chand, SIs made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
