Srinagar, June 25: Police today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 2.5 kgs of charas from his possession.
A police spokesman said on a tip off, a police party of Police Station Shergari, led by SHO Sargun Shukla arrested a notorious drug peddler Mohammad Maqbool Khan, son of Lal-Din Khan of Magarmal Bagh while selling charas stuffed cigarettes to a student at Magarmal Bagh.
The drug peddler was taken into custody and on his search 2.5 kgs of charas was recovered.
He said a case FIR No. 47/2014 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against him and investigation has been taken up.
