POONCH, Dec 30: Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 2.25 grams heroin from his possession.
The accused was identified as Iftar Ahmed, son of Mohd Rashid, resident of Kamsar. He was riding a motorcycle without number plate, which was intercepted by a Police party of Police Station Poonch during routine patrolling duty at Kamsar Chowk.
During frisking, 2.25 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. He was immediately arrested and the recovered heroin was seized.
A case FIR number 270/2022 under the relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Poonch and investigation has been taken up.
The arrest and recovery was made by Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao, SHO Poonch assisted by PSI Simranjeet Singh and PSI Rajat Nanawat.
