Drug peddler arrested in Anantnag

Srinagar, Mar 4: Police today said it has arrested a drug peddler and huge quantity of codeine phosphate was recovered from his possession in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said acting on an information, police laid a checkpoint at Sangam and during the checking, a vehicle bearing registration number JK05B-6704 was intercepted.
“On checking 4680 bottles of codeine phosphate packed in 39 boxes was recovered from the possession of Majid Abbas Wani. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized by police on spot,” he said.
The police spokesman said a case was registered under FIR number 21/2017 under section 8/21 NDPS Act and investigation was taken up.
